The Kenya Education Leadership and Management Institute (KEMI) is a Public Management Development Institute under the Ministry of Education. KEMI was established by the Government of Kenya in 1981. The institute is mandated   under   Legal   Notice   19/2010 of the   Education Act to undertake Management Training, Research and Consultancy services.

The KEMI Journal of Education Leadership and Management (KEMI/JEM) is the official, bi-annual, research journal of the Kenya Education Management Institute.  The journal is intended to foster and enhance development of  an increasingly vibrant and diverse   field   of research   and debate   about   professional   issues   in Education Leadership and Management.

To fulfill its mission, the journal aims to:

  1. Provide a mechanism by which results of research will be disseminated to education stakeholders by KEMI;
  2. Provide a platform to researchers, scholars, and practitioners to share research findings; and
  3. Raise the visibility of researchers.
